Altera developed the High-Speed Mezzanine Card (HSMC) specification, which standardizes the interface between mezzanine cards

and motherboards. Altera and its partners will provide a variety of host platforms and mezzanine cards that conform to this specification.

The Altera download cable supports in-system programming of Altera MAX and configuration devices,

as well as in-circuit reconfiguration of Atera SRAM and embedded processors.
